Day 4: I trust You, Lord. This mountain is nothing. Matthew 17:20
The mind can be a tricky thing. It's the favorite play place for Satan and his cohorts. They take every little piece of information on your life to use against you. Sometimes your day may make you wanna scream DON'T YOU HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO THAN MESS WITH ME TODAY!!
Honestly, he doesn't. Thankfully, Satan isn't omnipresent, but he does have a well-organized team at his command. But daily, he is scoping and planning your downfall. He hates you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 KJV
This is why your trust walk is so important. You have to build your faith because Satan looks for every way to mess with you. But the Word doesn't say he IS a lion. It says he's like a lion. You know, a simile.
Because He isn't a lion, it's his job to make you think he is. You have to reprogram your mind to know that the mountain in front of you is nothing because Satan will use every trick in his arsenal to get you to think otherwise.
The Almighty promised you that in Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, and Mark 11:23 that no mountain can stand against you if you have faith. Getting enough faith takes practice for some, especially us in the Western Hemisphere who may seem to have everything handed to us, compared to our counterparts on the eastern side. Have we lost our desire to trust because things have gotten to easy? I dare say we have. Turn back to your first love, taking nothing for granted.
There will come a time when we will need to solely rely on God for everything. How about we start now. Later may be too late.
Start today. Your mountain may be a pile of bills. A dwindling marriage. A need for college tuition. Look these things square on and tell them to move! Remind them who your God is. Tell them what he has promised. Tell your issues to jump in a lake. Remember Satan is like a lion. You have to open your spiritual eyes and tell him where to go! With him out of the way, your mountain will definitely hike up its skirt and skedaddle away.
Mountain mover,
