Day 7: I trust You, Lord. I will walk by faith, not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7
Take a minute and close your eyes. Ask someone to give you these next instructions.
With your eyes closed, stand up. Go into the kitchen and get yourself a tall glass of water to drink. Drink it. If you aren't in a place with a kitchen, go into the next room or office. Try to cross the street if you are outside. How successful were you? Did you even try?
How about this? What if you were all of a sudden paralyzed and couldn't walk? What if someone, or several people, came to you and told you that you would suddenly walk? Would you believe that even though you're still stuck in a wheelchair? What if you read that this exact thing happened to a preteen and he was able to hold onto this word and believe? Believe so much that when God revealed it to him in a dream, he stood on this vision and waited? And it happened. Just as it was revealed in his dream! Can you believe that?
Well if it happened for him, it can happen for you! Walking around with your eyes clothes as a person who can see can be terribly annoying, but it takes this type of faith to believe when things in front of you don't look like what you have asked God or God has revealed to you directly or through a man/woman of God. You must believe God when man says the opposite. Stand still when people say go. Go left when everyone turns right. You must focus on heavenly things when the world is right in from of you.
Second Corinthians 5:7 says we walk by faith, and not by sight. We don't worry about the things in the physical seen realm. Rather, we should set our sight on things unseen. To walk by faith means to stay in tune with Holy Spirit, allowing Him to guide your every move and decision. Like trusting, this takes practice as well. We are too busy these days and have ignored the nudges of our friend Holy Spirit. Walking by faith daily will help us learn to hear from the Spirit and obey.
If you are having a hard time walking by faith, then walk around with your eyes closed. This should make it easier to walk by faith as your sight is now not required. But seriously, If you practiced walking with your eyes closed, you'd eventually get good at it. The same is true with practicing walking by faith.
Perfect your walk and see that your physical eyes are never needed. Declare I trust You, Lord, to guide me where to step.
Happy walking,
Keiyia JOYet George
